Yes, wholeheartedly yes to interdependence! I'm going to quote you in my short meditation on pledging allegiance to the land in tomorrow's newsletter. Thanks for the great example! xo
symbiotic relationships are sadly often overlooked. It is amazing how much cooperation takes place in nature. You just have to stop long enough to notice... Thanks the great article.
Perhaps the opposite of independence is not dependence, but interdependence. Nature reminds us that nothing truly thrives alone—not forests, not ecosystems, and not human communities.
I have become a cheerful and satisfied bread baker, though I do wish I had a wheat producer like your friend nearby! Thanks for reminding us of the glory of interdependence!
Wendy! I'm with you as you return to that gift of fresh bread on your windshield. So evocative, and moving to be under that sky with you. Deep thoughts. Deeply feeling this world. God, it's such a gift. xo

Amazing! I made my first sourdough this past winter. It was pretty satisfying. Yes, she is doing amazing things—and the bread is off-the-charts tasty.

Thank you, Lizzie! I look forward to reading this—it does not surprise me a bit. 🩵
